Wed 24th Feb Training Cancelled

Dear Players & Parents,

Due to adverse weather and water-logging, the lower paddock at
Mudchute Farm is unsuitable for rugby training.

Therefore, all rugby training, including adults, colts, ladies and
youth has been cancelled for this week.

For the youth section teams and colts, this means there will be no
training on Wednesday 24th February.

Training will continue on Sunday on Millwall Park.

We will assess the situation later this week as to whether we resume
next Wednesday.

The team managers and I will keep you informed of any decisions made
about this.

MRFC - Millwall to hold Colts U19 trials

Dear Players & Parents,

Are you or do you know someone who is aged 16-19?

Millwall Rugby Club will be holding a selection trial for U19s wishing
to join the new 'Colts' team in 2010. The trial will take place on
Sunday 14th February 2010 on Millwall Park starting promptly at 11am.

Anyone wishing to try-out for the team should register prior to the
event using the link below:

Players who do not trial will not be considered for the team.
Likewise, if insufficient numbers attend the trial, we will not pursue
a colts team at all.

The format of the trial will be as follows:

1. Sign up and registration (11am)

2. Warm up (11:30am)

3. Drills (12pm)

4. Contact Match (1pm)

Selected players will be notified by email, no more than 5 days
following the trial with fixtures against other Colts teams to begin
in March 2010.

Please spread the word to all 16-19 year olds.

MRFC - Help Millwall RFC Sponsor Mudchute Farm

Dear Players & Parents,

Millwall Rugby Club are raising money for the Mudchute Association and
we'd really appreciate your support.

Mudchute Farm is a unique living resource in east London which
provides free access to a wide range of farm animals for children of
all ages.

Mudchute receive no funding from local government and corporate
supporters are reducing their funding.

So now we need your help. It costs �147 a day to run Mudchute Farm and
Millwall Rugby Club are appealing for donations so we can 'sponsor'
the running of the Farm for two weeks in March 2010.

MRFC - Training Cancellation

Dear Players & Parents,

Due to the bad weather and Millwall Park / Mudchute Farm being frozen,
we have cancelled the junior rugby training sessions until further
notice.

The minibus scheme from the Josh Lewsey schools will also not be
running this Sunday (10th Jan) nor next Wednesday (13th Jan).

We will keep you updated later next week as to when training will be
resuming as soon as we hear from Mudchute Farm and the council. We are
aiming to at least resume Sunday sessions from Sunday 17th of January.

Sorry for any inconvenience. Please can you ensure all children and
parents are aware of this. Thanks.

FYI - Josh Lewsey is planning to visit Millwall Rugby Club in March to
meet, further encourage and train with the children who have made the
transition from the schools to the Rugby Club. A date will be
confirmed once he returns from his Mt Everest Expedition training
weeks in South America.

MRFC - U13s this Sunday & Christmas Party Tickets!

Dear Players & Parents,

I hope you are enjoying the run up to Christmas. I can't believe it's
December already! We have only a few more weeks of rugby left before
the New Year break, starting this Sunday!

Millwall's impressive Under 13s are at home to Rochford 100 RFC. Kick
off is 11am on Millwall Park. I'd love to see all the U13 parents and
families out to support the team this week!

Our senior youth squad, the U17s are facing Woodford RFC in an Essex
U17 Cup match at Woodford. A win will see them progress to the next
round of the cup. Good luck to Scott and the boys!

Have you got your tickets to the Millwall Lions Christmas Party yet?
The party will be held on Sunday 13th of December - next weekend! -
and features a live DJ, a fabulous christmas roast and loads of raffle
prizes on offer! Get your tickets from Steven Corleys on

Finally, training and matches will stop over the Christmas break. The
last wednesday session will be Wed 9th of December and the last Sunday
session will be 13th of December.

Training resumes on Wednesday 6th of January 2010 and Sunday 10th of
January 2010 respectively.
