Welcome back

Great first session back yesterday.

The minis started off the season with 15 children and the youth followed with 11 including several new players.

Training will now continue every Sunday throughout the season, minis(3-5 year olds) start at 10am and finish at 11am. Youth (6-12 year olds) start at 11am and finish at 12.30pm.

I look forward to seeing all of you again this Sunday

Rugby Fridays

Hi all,

I hope your having an enjoyable summer break.

Don't forget every Friday during the summer holidays we run our Rugby Friday's camp at Millwall Park from 10.30-2.30.
The camp is aimed at children aged 6-12 and includes a free lunch.

Lions End of Season BBQ

This Sunday Millwall Lions will be having their last Sunday training session of the season. 

The children will take part in their usual sessions then treated to a BBQ afterwards. Parents and families are welcome to join us at the clubhouse where the bar will be open.

The BBQ will start in time for the minis session finishing (11am) and will continue until the bar closes at around 2.30.

Millwall Lions Coffee Morning

Parents Coffee Morning

Sunday 12th July @ Millwall Rugby Clubhouse 

Hi all,

Millwall lions will be having another parents coffee morning this Sunday. This is a chance for you all to meet each other, discuss this seasons rugby training and chat about what the club can do better next season. We will also be discussing some upcoming events including the clubs summer programme, open day and youth end of season BBQ.

There is the possibility bacon sandwiches will be available to accompany your coffee. 

We will be starting at 11am- just after the minis session is finished so everyone has the opportunity to attend.

URGENT - Helpers needed in Limehouse this Saturday

Urgent message from our Youth Chair - Scott Vinnicombe

 
Hi all,
I have a great recruitment opportunity this weekend for our club at a school in Limehouse.

The school is having a open day event and want the rugby club to run some taster sessions to encourage the kids to take up rugby outside school. 

The taster sessions will run from 12-4 although an earlier finish might be arranged. 

If any of you can support me in running these taster sessions i'd very much appreciate the help and would be happy to treat you to a few beers afterwards. 

Please let me know if you can help out, even if it's just for an hour.

Countdown to Rugby World Cup - Open Day at Millwall Rugby Club - WE NEED HELPERS NEXT TUESDAY

Date: Tues 17th March (Next Tues)

Time: 11am to 3pm

Venue: Millwall Park & Rugby Clubhouse

As you may or may not know our youth team have been working hard behind the scenes to set up the RWC Countdown to Rugby Open Day at Millwall Rugby Club which will take place on the 17^th of March (next Tuesday).

So successful has the feedback been that there will be around 500 children attending. This will work out to be a great promotion for both Millwall Rugby Club, and Rugby Union in the Tower Hamlets area.

As you can imagine, 500 children will no doubt be a handful and as such any help you could provide on this day will be greatly appreciated.
 

We have a few volunteers, but WE NEED MORE. 

Remember, a great deal of Canary Wharf and City employers allow their employees to take a day a year to help with community events. 

The kids will be arriving from around 11.45am and will be running through the various training stations until 3.00pm so you will be required during this time. Ideally, we would like coaches to arrive around 45 minutes ahead of time to assist with the set up.

Volunteers would be leading or supporting taster sessions, helping organise kids and supporting the taster session rotations.

Come and watch our Youth game (Under 9s) this Sunday 28th September 2014

This Sunday from 10.30am onwards, come down and watch our youth section take part in a training session and their first fixture of the season.

Our Under 9s Lions will be playing against Old Colfieans Under 9s. Exact details, length format etc are still being worked out but the kick off time will be 11am.
