Saracens for all the family on Boxing Day

Dear Players & Parents,

As a partner club of Saracens, we get access to special ticket prices during the season.

On the 26th of December, Saracens take on Wasps at Wembley Stadium and
they have offered us some pretty sweet ticket prices.

Not only that, for every ticket we sell, Saracens give us money back
to help with club development!

So our members don't just benefit from great ticket prices, not available to the public, but they also help the club fund raise in the process!

In order to take advantage of these awesome prices, you need to purchase the tickets by Sunday 5th of December 2010 to allow for the tickets to be sent to us in time for the match.

Here are the ticket prices:

Silver Adult Tickets (behind the posts) £15.00
Silver Junior Tickets £7.50

Red and Black Adult Tickets (corners) £10.00
Red and Black Junior Tickets £5.00

So a family of four could be watching the London derby for just £30!!
- SWEET!!!

If you want to purchase tickets, see Leigh Dargan - our Social Secretary (socialsecretary@millwallrugby.com), or Matt Shorrock - our Youth Chair (youthchair@millwallrugby.com) asap.

They will give you a receipt which you can exchange for the match tickets, when they arrive at the club.

Remember, the deadline for buying tickets is Sunday 5th of December
2010 - the club has to put the order in to Saracens by Monday 6th of December.

How to get to Wembley on 26th December 2010:

U15s Roar to another victory

Millwall's Under-15s recorded an impressive victory over Bexley on Sunday. The young Lions roared to a 33-15 win to the delight of coach Gary McLaughlin.

He said: “It was a good game of rugby, Bexley dug their heels in and gave us a good run for our money"

U15 fullback Jacob Lajolie scored 3 tries in the romp, while Alfie Duffy and Bobby Grace also scored tries.

Man of the match Jonathan Wood (backrow) was compared to All Blacks Captain Ritchie McCaw by spectators on the sideline for his ferocious tackling technique and overall tenacity.

“Millwall played as a unit and just seemed to pull everything together as a team" said the very impressed coach “They took everything from the training pitch that they have been going over the past few weeks and put it into action on the pitch.”

RFU Grand Draw 2010-11

The RFU Grand Draw for 2011 is upon us again and is a method by which all Rugby clubs can raise funds. The club gets 90% of the monies generated.

The RFU Grand Draw is a simple and risk free way to raise funds for our club. Each year the Draw Society organises a pool of fantastic prizes for the draw. RFU registered clubs, schools, colleges and Referee Societies are then eligible to receive a quantity of free Grand Draw tickets, from which they keep 90 per cent of all sale proceeds.

Last year the Draw raised £475,000 overall fo Rugby Clubs across the country. Let’s all try and make it a cool £500,000 this time!

Our club receives 90 per cent of the money it raises plus the chance to win valuable prizes in the Draw.

1st prize is £10,000 cash!
2nd Prize is a Business class return air tickets from The UK to Dubai.
3rd Prize is Two Business Class return air tickets on any BMI operated flight,
followed by 36 other great prizes.

The Draw takes place on the 25th March 2011 and we have until February to return all of our sold tickets.

The benefits to our club:
Each year the Grand Draw provides clubs and schools with everything they need to take part in the fund raising: tickets, instructions, promotional material – even the postage is pre-paid. This means:

•No cost to the club
•No risk to the club
•Minimal time in organising ticket sales
•We receive 90 per cent of the value of the tickets sold as a tax-free donation

All members will currently be given a couple of books of tickets to try and sell to family and friends, work colleagues etc.,

Please do your utmost to assist with the selling of tickets.

There will be a prize for the most Individual Ticket Sales of a £30 Club Shop Voucher, and a special 'Team' prize for the most ticket sales from all the teams at Millwall Lions.

Club Update - Clubhouse Open Tonight, Raffle Last Chance, 6 tickets left for Eng v Aus & New time for touch rugby

Players & Parents, here's your Friday Club Update!

In this newsletter:

- Clubhouse opening/big screen showings this weekend

- International England v South Africa Raffle - last chance today

- Six amazing opportuntities to see England v Australia tomorrow

- Winter Touch Rugby - New Time

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

-> From the Clubhouse:

Hi Players & Parents,

Our clubhouse will be open tonight from 4.30pm and will be showing the
Bath v Cardiff LV cup game from 7.30pm. This should be a nice warm up
to the internationals tomorrow.

We'll be open tomorrow (Saturday) from 1.30pm, in anticipation of the
BIG clash of the day! England takes on the might of New Zealand and
will be shown from 2pm. If you're not going to Twickenham then bring
your friends and family down to support your team.

We will also be showing the South Africa v Ireland game at 5.30pm. The
media expect Ireland to beat an average world champion team but it's a
possible "Grand Slam Tour" for the Boks so here's hoping the Boks
silence their critics!

The Australia v Wales game will be recorded and shown after the SA v
Ireland Game and it looks like the Aussies are tipped to give the
injury-hit Welsh a hiding!

So come down and enjoy the rugby atmosphere at your club. There will
also be the usual raffles, shots, Cruga-Biltong and charity
fundraising going on.

If you don't fancy watching the England v New Zealand then you can
catch our mighty Llamas v Thames 2's on Millwall Park; kick-off 2pm!

Hope to see you sometime this weekend.

Regards

Rick

and the Clubhouse Management Team
