Colts Cancelled for 2011

Dear Players & Parents,

It is unfortunate that I need to send this email, however I am writing
to inform you that due to lack of demand and committment from players
aged 17-19, we are cancelling the Colts team for the remainder of the
season.

Whilst it appeared there was great enthusiasum for the team from the
prospective players during the summer and at the start of the current
season, we have seen a gradual drop off both in training numbers and
players making themselves available for matches.

The plan was always to use this season of Colts to transition players
smoothly into Adult rugby, and hopefully this can still take place.

That said, due to the fact that Millwall Lions have limited resources,
I have made the executive decision to remove Scott Vinnicombe and Kev
Doherty from the Colts set up, as their time, effort and enthusiasm
can be employed (and appreciated) in other youth team age groups.

Effective immediately, all Colts fixtures will be cancelled and there
will no longer be any Colts training on Wednesday evenings.

If there are any Colts players who do wish to continue training, and
we know there are a few of you, Scott has volunteered to attend the
Adult training sessions on Thursday nights to help you ease into the
adult game.

I'd like to take this opportunity to give huge thanks to both Scott
and Kev for their time and efforts in getting the Colts set up and
playing as many matches as they did - it is greatly appreciated by me,
the youth committee and I'm sure, the main club committee as well.

Should you have any questions or concerns about this decision, please
direct them to myself.

Many thanks

Matt Shorrock
