UNDER 15s KEEP WINNING

Congratulations to the Millwall Lions Under 15s, who won their third
consecutive match on Sunday, with a 32-15 demolition of Shoreditch Sharks.

Credit and thanks must go to Head Coach Gary Mclaughlin but also assistant
coaches Shaun Score and 'Big' Mal McLean, who have covered the coaching
superbly in Gary's absence.

And of course the team wouldn't be as organised if it wasn't for team
manager, Maureen Lajolie.

But the real achievement and praise surely needs to go to the players, now
playing in their third season together, who have shown commitment and
effort to not only the club and the coaches, but also to each other.

This is what rugby is all about, and on behalf of the entire club, Well
done and thanks to Captain Bobby Grace, Alfie Duffy, Jon Wood, Jacob
Lajolie and all the players in Under 15s for showing us the way! Keep up
the good work!

Come and support the Under 15s this Sunday 16th of January as they shoot
for four wins in a row, as they take on Maldon on Millwall Park. Kick off
is at 11am.

WATCH MORE RUGBY

We believe that children who become better rugby players, also become
better human beings, as they benefit from the ethos and core values of
rugby.

In order to help them become better rugby players, nothing beats playing
the game. Second in line is watching the game!

We know that our current youth members probably dont have access to Sky
Sports (most of us dont either!) but there are four other ways to watch
high quality rugby.

1. Millwall Senior Men's matches
Come along to Millwall Park and watch one of Millwall Senior Men's teams
play. View the fixture list here:
http://newsletter.millwallrugby.com/lt.php?id=YUkIAApSBRhUVlNJDwUH

2. Saracens Premiership matches
Attend a Saracens Premiership match, using our club affiliation to get
cheaper tickets. View the Saracens fixture list here:
http://newsletter.millwallrugby.com/lt.php?id=YUkIAApSBBhUVlNJDwUH

3. AVIVA Premiership on ITV4
Watch the Aviva Premiership Highlights on ITV4 or on demand online at:
http://newsletter.millwallrugby.com/lt.php?id=YUkIAApSBxhUVlNJDwUH

4. 6 Nations matches
Apply for international tickets, via your club membership to watch England
play in the 6 nations. If you don't get tickets, come down to the clubhouse
(http://newsletter.millwallrugby.com/lt.php?id=YUkIAApTBxhUVlNJDwUH to
watch the game with other like-minded rugby fans!
Email secretary@millwallrugby.com to apply to purchase international
tickets

At Millwall Rugby Club, we encourageno, in fact we demand that parents let
their kids watch more rugby! (not at the expense of home work though!)

FUNDRAISING QUIZ

You may have seen recently that the club has a number of financial issues
to deal with in 2011, including an unexpected rent demand from LBTH council
(see Big Challenges of 2011
http://newsletter.millwallrugby.com/lt.php?id=YUkIAApSARhUVlNJDwUH
).

To help the club in raising some much needed funds, we are holding a
fundraising quiz in the Clubhouse on Friday 25th February, starting at
19:00pm.

Bring the kids along and let's have a laugh and try and get our brains
working!

WANT TO BE A SPORTS WRITER WHEN YOU GROW UP?

We are looking for wanna-be sports writers to help us make sure our match
reports get into the local news regularly.

If there are any children (or adults) who dream of being a journalist or
sports writer when they grow up, here is your opportunity to get some
on-the-job work experience and be trained by a qualified and former
journalist - and some current ones too!

Often you'll get your name written in the paper as the 'by line' if they
use your story in full!

Interested? Email Matt on youthchair@millwallrugby.com and we'll organise a
training workshop to see who's up to the task!

UPCOMING FIXTURES

16th January - Under 15s at home to Maldon; Under 12s away to Shoreditch
Sharks
23rd January - Colts at home to Eton Manor
30th January - Colts at home to Harlow; Under 15s away to Bexley

All Millwall Lions home games are played on Millwall Park, with kick off
usually at 11am. We require lots of vocal and enthusiastic supporters to
come down and cheer on our young players - they are, after all, the future
of Millwall Rugby Club.

Let's go to work!
